MEMBER CLASSES

LDTA offers multiple levels of classes to ensure that each dog and handler is working at the appropriate level, with personalized attention from their Instructor.

Following are the classes available to club members:

OBEDIENCE

Intro to Obedience and Performance – Level 1
Pre-requisite LDTA Basic Level 2 obedience graduate or equivalent

  • Attention
  • Getting into heel position from front, left and right side
  • Maintaining heel position - on and off leash
  • Cues – footwork, body position, voice
  • Distraction and motivational recalls
  • Sit and stand for examination
  • Introduction to signals – stay, wait, sit, stand, down, come
  • Introduction to jumps – recall over jumps (solid, bar, broad)
  • Sit and down stays from across the room

Obedience and Performance – Level 2
Pre-requisite – Level 1 or equivalent

  • Introduction to some exercises from the Open level (dumbbell)
  • Introduction to some exercises from the Utility level

Novice (CD)
Pre-requisite - Level 1

Open (CDX)
Pre-requisite - CD title or 2 legs on CD (priority placement to CD titled dogs)

Utility (UD)
Pre-requisite - CDX title or 2 legs on CDX (priority placement to CDX titled dogs)

Rally O Novice
Pre-requisite - LDTA Basic Level 2 obedience graduate or equivalent

Rally O Advanced and Excellent
Pre-requisite – Rally O Novice
